The SafeDigitAL-EU Jean Monnet Module will focus on:

Providing an overview of the current state of cybersecurity within the EU, including the most prevalent cyber threats and vulnerabilities of EU member states

Investigating the impact of cyber threats on EU citizens and organizations, including potential impacts on privacy, financial security, and critical infrastructure

Promoting EU cyber-defense initiatives, identifying best practices and areas for improvement

Exploring the role of EU institutions in cybersecurity, such as the European Cybersecurity Agency (ENISA) and the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), and identifying best practices for cooperation between EU institutions and member states

Investigating the role of the private sector, including companies and organizations

Analyzing the impact of digital transformation on cybersecurity, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improving security within the EU

Providing students with practical skills in cybersecurity, including network security, data protection, and incident response in Albania

Our Team
Our team comprises professors from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Natural Sciences; the Institute of European Studies in Albania and professors from the University of Camerino and the University of Ancona, Italy.

About Jean Monnet Modules
A Jean Monnet Module is an EU-funded teaching program in the field of European Union studies. The program is named after Jean Monnet, a visionary French statesman who was instrumental in the founding of the European Union. Jean Monnet Modules are offered by higher education institutions around the world and are designed to provide students with a deep understanding of the European Union and its policies, institutions, and history. The courses are interdisciplinary and cover a range of topics, such as EU law, economics, politics, and culture.
The program aims to promote excellence in teaching and research in European Union studies, foster the development of new teaching materials and methods, and encourage dialogue between academics and policy-makers. The modules are usually delivered in English and are open to students from a variety of disciplines, including political science, international relations, law, economics, and history.
